YouTuber Simon Andersen experiences a night on a futuristic Chinese sleeper train featuring hotel-like pods.

YouTuber Simon Andersen spent a night on the CRH2E sleeper train, a high-speed rail vehicle built by CRRC Qingdao Sifang. The train features over 800 individual hotel-like pods, each equipped with clean bedding, curtains for privacy, and a small reading light. While the Andersen noted that the foot space was somewhat narrow and the pods lacked lockable doors, he described the overall experience as comfortable and smooth. Staff provided amenities such as cream tea, snacks, and a bag containing a toothbrush and towels. The train, capable of reaching 155 mph, transported Andersen from Beijing Xi (West) to Shenzhen Bei (North) in just over 12 hours. Despite the noise of the train, Andersen reported having no trouble sleeping and found the bed to be surprisingly comfy.
