The Maryland Transit Administration will launch a new Brunswick-Camden run-through train service on September 28.

One train will travel to Baltimore in the morning and one will return in the evening. This new connection will reduce commute times for several destinations. For example, the trip from Germantown to College Park will take 46 minutes instead of 57 minutes, and the trip from Silver Spring to Baltimore Camden Station will take 57 minutes instead of 117 minutes. The train will stop at Brunswick, Point of Rocks, Barnesville, Germantown, Metropolitan Grove, Gaithersburg, Rockville, Kensington, and Silver Spring before continuing to College Park and Laurel, ending in Baltimore. To accommodate the new service, the Maryland Transit Administration will modify several trains on the Brunswick and Camden lines. The administration stated that the new connection will be provided without additional annual operating costs.
