Tropical Storm Marie is advancing over the Pacific Ocean and is projected to reach Category 1 hurricane status by Wednesday, September 2nd. The National Meteorological Service reported that the system is moving northwest at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour, with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 95 kilometers per hour. While the storm is expected to keep its trajectory parallel to the Mexican coast without making direct landfall, its extensive circulation will influence the weather across several states. Heavy rains and strong precipitation are forecasted for Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, and Michoacán. Coastal areas are also expected to experience high waves of two to four meters and sea fog. Meteorological forecasts indicate that the system will continue to gain strength as it moves over deep Pacific waters. By Thursday, September 3rd, the storm is projected to reach Category 2 status with sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour. Authorities have advised the population to take precautions due to the potential for landslides, flooding, and rough seas in the western regions.
