Ukraine Launches Massive Drone Wave Targeting Russian Infrastructure and Capital
Ukraine launched one of its largest drone attacks since the start of the war, targeting Russian infrastructure and the capital of Moscow. The Russian defense ministry reported that forces downed at least 822 Ukrainian drones across 16 regions and occupied Crimea. In the Moscow region, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported that 600 drones were launched toward the capital, with 201 destroyed by air defenses. While Sobyanin reported no damage to the city center, regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported one death in the Ramensky district. Simultaneously, Ukrainian strikes hit the e-commerce giant Wildberries, with a warehouse in Podolsk set on fire. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that these long-range strikes aim to undermine Russia's war economy. The attacks occurred as Russia continued its own long-range campaign, killing several people across Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also appealed to foreign partners for more air defense munitions to protect civilian infrastructure from high-speed ballistic missiles.
