The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Constitución Boulevard and Lázaro Cárdenas Boulevard, where the two men were traveling from the Loma de Rodriguera colony. Despite the presence of municipal police, state agents, and the Mexican Army, the perpetrators managed to evade capture, highlighting a gap in local security. Security forces cordoned off the area, and the General Prosecutor’s Office began collecting evidence to clarify the double homicide. The attack caused alarm among nearby diners at a chain restaurant and pastry shop who took refuge during the heavy gunfire. Meanwhile, in Mazatlán, the Tercera Región Militar announced that a composite arsenal of 19 automatic firearms and 131 magazines was seized from two presumed members of the Pacific Cartel Group. Military authorities stated the actions were carried out in respect for the rule of law and human rights to preserve public order.
