The Moroccan Organization for Human Rights (OMDH) released a report highlighting the insufficient infrastructure and rising vulnerabilities for illegal immigrants in Ceuta following a mass crossing from Morocco. The report notes that the local authorities failed to provide adequate shelters, forcing many individuals to sleep on the streets or in overcrowded areas. While Spanish officials expanded temporary accommodation sites, the OMDH warned of an alarming health situation and potential exploitation for vulnerable groups, particularly children and unaccompanied minors. Additionally, the OMDH criticized European countries for failing to fulfill international obligations regarding human rights at borders and for prioritizing border security over safe, orderly migration pathways. The organization attributed irregular migration to complex factors, including misinformation and restrictive European policies. In a related development, the National Police recorded six complaints regarding alleged sexual assault offences involving underage Moroccan girls who arrived during the mass entry. Three Moroccan nationals were arrested in connection with these cases, with two remaining in pre-trial detention and one ordered for expulsion.
