Iryna Terekh leads Ukrainian defense company Fire Point in producing long-range drones and missiles

Iryna Terekh, the CEO of Fire Point, is leading one of Ukraine's largest drone manufacturers to transition from civilian design to defense technology. Originally an architect, Terekh founded the company with businessman Denys Shtilerman and co-founder Yegor Skalyga to produce long-range attack drones. The company currently produces between 300 and 400 long-range strike drones per day, including the FP-1 model, which has become a primary tool for striking targets deep in the Russian rear. Terekh stated that in 2026, Ukraine conducted twice as many long-range strikes on Russian territory as Russia did against Ukraine, with approximately 60% of those attacks utilizing Fire Point weapons. The company is also developing a domestically designed ballistic missile, which Terekh stated will be deployed within months. Additionally, Fire Point cruise missiles have achieved significant milestones, including a mission over 1,000 miles, which Terekh claimed as the longest-range strike in combat history. The administration of the U.S. and Ukraine are expected to sign a new defense agreement to expand Ukrainian military technology exports to the United States.
