The Defense Department reported that more than 750 US service members have been wounded since the start of the Iran war. According to the Defense Casualty Analysis System, 18 service members have died and 757 have been wounded since the US launched the conflict against Iran on February 28. The administration announced the start of the new conflict with Iran on July 7, and the Pentagon updated the database on Wednesday to include more than 50 additional wounded soldiers. These figures come after the Pentagon faced scrutiny for temporary data disruptions that caused casualty numbers to decrease briefly last month. Officials have noted that the security needs of the ongoing conflict have influenced the pace of the disclosure of wounded troops. While the administration continues to market the situation with Iran as positive, negotiations between Tehran and DC remain at an impasse. Trump said the situation with Iran is currently very good as he paused negotiations with Tehran.
