Traffic Accidents and Protests Impact Mobility in Bogotá on Friday
Traffic accidents and various protests significantly impacted mobility in Bogotá on Friday, September 11, 2026. A vehicle accident on Boyacá Avenue with Street 8, heading south-north, caused high traffic volume and required the use of an alternating lane. Simultaneously, multiple demonstrations occurred across the city. Protesters moved along 7th Street and 13th Street, with many heading toward the Palestinian Embassy. These mobilizations caused detours for TransMiZonal and dual buses, particularly between 26th and 46th Streets, and led to the suspension of service at the Museo National station. Additional traffic issues included a vehicle collision on 32bis South Street with Carrera 2, causing delays in the sector. Traffic flow was also affected by a series of semaphore failures in Chapinero and Usaquén. The Secretariat of the District Government monitored these activities to ensure peaceful demonstrations and preserve coexistence in the city.
