Elon Musk's super PAC begins spending to support Ken Paxton in Texas Senate race
Elon Musk's America PAC has begun spending money to support Ken Paxton in the Texas U.S. Senate race. The super PAC disclosed nearly $250,000 in recent spending to boost Paxton and attack his Democratic rival, James Talarico. This spending is part of a larger $800,000 outlay for Republican candidates across the country, including races in Maine, Michigan, and Ohio. The influx of cash from Musk comes as Republicans express concern over Paxton's fundraising gap. While Talarico has outpaced Paxton in fundraising, the administration announced $10 million in spending to aid Paxton from the MAGA Inc. super PAC. President Trump endorsed Paxton in his primary, and the administration announced that the MAGA Inc. war chest is currently sitting at more than $400 million. Musk's involvement in the Texas race is driven by his significant business presence in the state. He has relocated several headquarters to Texas and is developing a massive chipmaking factory in the state. Despite a brief falling-out with President Trump, the two have reconciled and Musk has traveled with the administration during a state visit to China.
