A drone crashed in Tulcea County, Romania, after entering the country's airspace from the Ukrainian border.

A drone crashed in an uninhabited area of Tulcea County, Romania, on the night of August 19-20. The aircraft entered Romanian airspace from the direction of the Ukrainian border and crashed approximately 13 km east of the Galați city. The Romanian Defence Ministry reported that radar surveillance detected a group of aerial assets near the border at 02:23. In response, Romania scrambled two Spanish F-18 fighter jets and an IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter to monitor the situation. The drone caught fire upon impact but the fire eventually extinguished itself. Military personnel were dispatched to the air crash site to secure the area, and an all-clear was given by 03:52. No casualties or property damage were reported from the incident.
