The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classified the action as a Class II recall, indicating that while the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote. The recall specifically affects 15ml bottles with lot code 2552A and an expiration date of September 30, 2027. These eye drops, which are marketed as an astringent and lubricant redness-reliever, were distributed nationwide by Medtech Products Inc. and sold at major retailers including Walmart, Target, Kroger, and CVS. Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled product and return the bottles to the place of purchase for a refund. Healthcare providers suggest that users who have already used the drops should monitor for symptoms, though the recall is not expected to cause permanent eye injury.
