Epic Systems Corporation warns patients of nationwide phishing scams impersonating the MyChart medical portal

Epic Systems Corporation has confirmed a nationwide phishing campaign where scammers are using the MyChart brand to steal personal and payment information. The administration of the platform announced that while the MyChart system itself has not suffered a security breach, fraudulent emails, text messages, and phone calls are frequently tricking patients into clicking suspicious links. Two primary scams have been identified: one offers fake medical results that require users to perform keyboard shortcuts to view, and another promises a free Medicare health kit in exchange for a small shipping fee. Health networks such as Penn Medicine and Main Line Health have issued proactive warnings, advising patients to avoid clicking on unsolicited links. Instead, patients are encouraged to use the official MyChart app or bookmarked websites to ensure security. Those who have already entered information into a suspicious link should reset their passwords and monitor their accounts for unusual activity.
