Ricardo Monreal Calls for Unity Among Morena Candidates to Avoid Internal Conflicts Before 2027 Elections
Ricardo Monreal, the coordinator of Morena in the Chamber of Deputies, urged candidates for the 2027 elections to act with generosity and avoid internal conflicts. He emphasized that while current polls place the party in a privileged position, candidates should not become overconfident. Monreal noted that the 2027 elections will be a significant test for the Fourth Transformation movement. To ensure a smooth transition, the party has already defined candidates for Campeche, Aguascalientes, and Colima. These include Pablo Gutiérrez Lazaruz, Nora Ruvalcaba, and Rosa María Bayardo Cabrera. The administration announced that the party will also hold a plenary meeting on August 30th to establish a legislative agenda of approximately 30 topics. This agenda includes economic packages for 2027, anti-corruption measures, and laws regarding artificial intelligence and animal welfare. The meeting will involve key secretaries and national leaders to prioritize these pending matters during the final year of the current legislature.
