Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a declaration of strategic partnership and a defense cooperation agreement in Kyiv. The partnership, known as the Ellisiv Accord, focuses on defense, energy, and resilience, aiming to strengthen the security of both nations. Additionally, the two countries signed the Drone Deal, a framework for long-term cooperation in drone technology and air defense. Norway committed to providing approximately $9.2 billion in financial support to Ukraine for the 2027 fiscal year. This funding will be used for both military and humanitarian spending. Jonas Gahr Støre emphasized that supporting Ukraine is an investment in Europe's own security. The agreement also highlights Norway's commitment to protecting Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure and assisting in the reconstruction of damaged energy systems. These documents establish a long-term foundation for cooperation between the two nations, utilizing Ukraine's wartime experience to develop shared security solutions.
