Mexico's Secretary of Security and Civil Protection, Omar García Harfuch, stated that the Mexican Constitution prohibits foreign forces from operating within the country. While the United States has reserved the right to military intervention to fight narco-trafficking, Omar García Harfuch clarified that cooperation with the administration is based on technical intelligence exchange rather than direct foreign troop deployment. He defended the security results of the government of Claudia Sheinbaum, noting a 51% reduction in the daily homicide rate over the last two years. He highlighted the dismantling of 2,700 narco-laboratories and the seizure of 80 tons of cocaine at sea.
