The National Superintendence of Health issued Resolution 8580-6 on August 18, 2026, appointing RobertoJosé Tercero Solano Navarro as the special interventor for Nueva EPS. He replaces Jorge Iván Ospina Gómez, who served in the role for just over four months. The administration of Nueva EPS, Colombia's largest health entity, was intervened by the government of President Gustavo Petro in April 2024. RobertoJosé Tercero Solano Navarro, a lawyer with extensive experience in public and private sectors, previously served as the general manager of Cajacopi EPS. His appointment aims to strengthen management and ensure continuity of health services for the 11 million affiliates. RobertoJosé Tercero Solano Navarro stated that his goal is to build upon existing foundations through strategic alliances and resource savings rather than immediate liquidation. The new interventor is tasked with presenting periodic reports to Super-Salud, including financial, legal, and technical-scientific analyses. He must also provide a final update before the intervention ends to determine if the entity is viable for continued operation or liquidation.
