Omaha Police Investigate Early Sunday Shooting in the Old Market Area Leaving a 21-Year-Old Man Critically Injured

Omaha police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the Old Market area early Sunday morning around 12:30 a.m. A 21-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to his leg, and was transported to Nebraska Medicine for treatment. While his injuries are currently considered non-life-threatening, he was initially reported as being in critical condition. The suspect remains at large as investigators work to identify the individual responsible. Lt. Lee Bell of the Omaha Police Department stated that the suspect is outstanding and the team is currently trying to figure out who that is. In a separate incident, police responded to a shooting in North Omaha near 28th and Titus Ave. just after 12:20 a.m. A man was found with gunshot wounds and was declared deceased at the Nebraska Medical Center after receiving CPR. His identity has not yet been released. Lt. Sean Sheridan reported that officers are currently interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for more information.
