Portland Police Bureau investigate shooting in Buckman neighborhood that left one person dead
Portland Police Bureau officers responded to a report of gunfire in the Buckman neighborhood early Saturday morning. Upon arrival at the 700 block of Southeast 12th Avenue, officers discovered a man dead on the sidewalk. The suspect or suspects fled the scene before police arrived, and no arrests have been made at this time. If confirmed as a homicide, this incident marks the 22nd homicide in Portland for 2026, though the city's overall homicide rate remains lower than the previous year.
