A 49-year-old man suffered an open fracture in his left leg and a closed fracture in his right leg after a malfunction on the Batman Gotham City Escape roller coaster at Parque Warner Madrid. The incident occurred on Saturday at the Spain's first multi-launch roller coaster, where the rider was reportedly trapped in the first two rows and left upside down. Park officials stated that the ride was stopped immediately and emergency procedures were activated to provide the-affected guest with immediate assistance. First responders treated the man on the scene before he was airlifted by helicopter to a nearby hospital. While some witnesses described the scene as shocking, others noted a lack of clear evacuation protocols during the event. Parque Warner Madrid management has closed the roller coaster for a review of the incident in coordination with authorities. This marks the second major attraction shutdown in two weeks, following a recent closure of the X2 roller coaster at Six Flags due to injuries and deaths.
