Former Vice President Mike Pence stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is requesting approximately 5 percent of the remaining U.S. Patriot missile inventory to help Ukraine endure the upcoming winter. Speaking from Kyiv, Pence noted that while Ukraine is currently winning the war against Russia, Zelenskyy expects Russian President Vladimir Putin to begin targeting energy infrastructure to impose deep winter cold on the Ukrainian people. While the ongoing war with Iran has depleted U.S. supplies, Pence suggested that South Korea could provide sophisticated interceptor systems to help address the shortage. He also noted that the relationship between the U.S. and South Korea has been strained recently due to instructions from the administration to reduce joint military exercises. Pence urged the administration to drive a hard bargain with Canada to avoid a trade war as the economy recovers. He praised the administration's actions against Iran and suggested that the administration and Israel may eventually need to finish the job in the region.
