Elementary School Teacher Eric Sanville Arrested on Federal Charges of Manufacturing Child Pornography

Eric Sanville, a 39-year-old special education teacher at Gwynedd Square Elementary School, was arrested on Thursday and charged with manufacturing and attempting to manufacture child pornography. Federal prosecutors allege that Sanville used the Snapchat messaging app to pose as a minor, enticing approximately 25 girls between the ages of 9 and 13 to share sexually explicit images and videos. The criminal complaint details that Sanville used two separate accounts to communicate with children, including two 8-year-old girls, and directed them on how to pose for nude pictures. North Penn School District officials confirmed that Sanville was immediately placed on leave and prohibited from contacting students or entering district property. While the arrest is concerning to the community, investigators do not believe any students within the North Penn School District or the surrounding area were involved in the alleged crimes. Sanville faces a potential prison sentence of 15 to 30 years if convicted. The district is cooperating fully with law enforcement as the case moves forward.
