Royce Moser faces homicide charges after allegedly stabbing girlfriend Karoline Heintz to death outside his home

Royce Moser, an 18-year-old student, faces a homicide charge for the death of Karoline Heintz, an 18-year-old student at PennWest California University. Moser allegedly killed Heintz by stabbing her with a knife outside his home in North Strabane Township on August 19. According to court documents, Moser stated he became angry during a conversation in Heintz's vehicle and a "demon" told him to stab her. Following the incident, Moser and his mother, Rachel Moser, are accused of attempting to cover up the crime. Rachel Moser allegedly told her son to bathe and change his clothes while she placed his clothes in a washing machine. She then allegedly took the Moser knife and placed it in a garbage bag to dispose of in the trash. Authorities released body camera footage showing officers discovering Heintz's body in the back of her Jeep Cherokee near the California Borough library. The vehicle was found after Heintz's family reported her missing. Investigators also released 37 pages of evidence, including crime scene photos and Google searches performed by Moser after the death. Moser and Rachel Moser are currently being held without bail in the Washington County jail.
