Hari Srinivasan reports that LinkedIn's new 'AI slop' feedback tool has been used over 1 million times.

LinkedIn Chief Product Officer Hari Srinivasan announced that the platform's new "AI slop" feedback option has been used more than 1 million times since its launch on July 30. The tool allows users to flag posts that appear to be low-effort, automated content generated by artificial intelligence. Srinivasan stated that these reports, combined with updated detection systems, have resulted in a 40% decrease in views for content classified as AI slop in recent weeks. The platform's goal is to provide human feedback rather than relying solely on automated detectors. LinkedIn is also rolling out notifications to alert authors whose posts are frequently flagged, helping them understand how their content is received. The administration of the platform clarified that the tool is not intended to ban AI use entirely, but rather to target generic, empty text. LinkedIn is also implementing verification processes to confirm users are real humans, aiming to maintain a professional environment for real perspectives.
