Fayetteville man was arrested after being linked to three shootings and a carjacking in Cumberland County.
A Fayetteville man was arrested Sunday morning after police linked him to three separate shootings and a carjacking. The incidents occurred in quick succession across the 700 block of Messenger Street, a Hardee's restaurant on Ramsey Street, and a Food Lion parking lot on McArthur Road. Cumberland County deputies responded to the first shooting on Messenger Street at 7:03 a.m., where a woman was found shot and transported to the hospital. Shortly after, police were called to the Hardee's restaurant for a carjacking and shooting, followed by another attempted carjacking and shooting at the Food Lion parking lot. Fayetteville police stated that the suspect was also involved in a shooting that occurred outside of city limits prior to the carjackings. Officers and detectives are currently investigating the crime scenes, and drivers are told to avoid the McArthur Road and Ramsey Street areas while they remain closed for investigation.
