Reuben Wu Captures Unique Landscape Perspectives During Total Solar Eclipse in Spain

Photographer Reuben Wu spent days scouting Spain to capture the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026. Unlike many photographers who focus on tight views of the sun, Reuben Wu utilized wide-angle shots to document the moon's shadow sweeping across the terrain and the unearthly light of totality. To prepare for the two-minute spectacle, Reuben Wu used a variety of cameras, including a time-lapse camera to record the movement of the moon's shadow, a telephoto camera for close-up shots, and a 360-degree camera to capture the mainland's atmosphere. He specifically chose a mountain in northern Spain to balance clear skies with a low sun angle. The eclipse was visible across parts of Greenland, Iceland, and Spain, while other regions like the U.K. and France saw a partial eclipse. The event drew millions of spectators and allowed local businesses in Iceland and northern Spain to charge premium prices for accommodations.
