John Hall was killed in a plane crash off the coast of Bristol, Maine, while his son, Tyler Hall, survived with minor injuries.

John Hall, a 54-year-old pilot from Lee, New Hampshire, was killed in a plane crash on Thursday afternoon. His son, Tyler Hall, survived the crash and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred near Fort William Henry in Pemaquid Harbor, where a small, single-engine airplane was found lying upside down in about four feet of water. First responders from the Bristol Fire and Rescue Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, and Lincoln County Ambulance were dispatched to the scene. Nearby residents and a building crew rushed into the water to assist the survivors. The aircraft, a Diamond DA20, experienced a mechanical failure and was removed from the water by a local marine barge. The Federal Aviation Administration announced that the National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation into the preliminary report which shows John Hall declared an emergency due to engine issues before the crash.
