Danna Eady Dies After Fiery Plane Crash in Northwest Fresno

Danna Eady, a 41-year-old certified flight instructor, died from injuries sustained during a plane crash on Saturday afternoon in Northwest Fresno. The aircraft, a fixed-wing single-engine plane, caught fire near the bluff of the San Joaquin River just off the runway at Sierra Sky Park Airport. Eady was piloting the aircraft, which also carried her husband, Craig Eady, and their two youngest children. While two adults were initially taken to the hospital in critical condition, the two children were pronounced dead at the scene. Eady was later pronounced dead on Sunday. Craig Eady remains in the hospital with third-degree burns and is in critical condition. Emergency responders from the Fresno County Sheriff's Office, Fresno Fire Department, and Fresno Police Department responded to the scene to fight the fire and locate victims. The crash occurred around 1:50 p.m. The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
