Residents Gather to Honor Six-Year-Old Michelle Dayana Henao Chavarría After Her Body Was Found in Buriticá
More than 200 people gathered at the San Antonio of Padua Parish in Buriticá to pray for the memory of Michelle Dayana Henao Chavarría, a six-year-old girl who disappeared for a week. She was found deceased in a rural area of the municipality on Monday, August 31, approximately 30 minutes from the last place she was seen. Authorities offered a multi-million dollar reward for information regarding her death. The girl, who suffered from autism and epilepsy, was last seen jumping over a fence at her home and crossing a nearby farm. Governor Andrés Julián Rendón declared three days of mourning and visited the family. The body was transported to the Medicina Legal headquarters in Medellín for testing to determine the cause of death. Police officials noted that because the girl was found 3 km away in a rough zone, it is probable she did not reach the location on her own.
