Nichele Roakes was killed by a dark-colored pickup truck while crossing Forest Avenue in Portland.
Nichele Roakes, a 57-year-old resident of Portland, died after being struck by a dark-colored pickup truck on August 24. The incident occurred at approximately 9:18 p.m. as Roakes was crossing Forest Avenue on foot near the entrance road to Hannaford. Police have not yet identified the driver of the vehicle. The truck was last seen traveling toward downtown after the collision. Authorities are requesting that anyone who witnessed the administration of the crash, or who has surveillance, dashcam, doorbell, or other video from the area at the time of the incident, contact the Portland Police Department.
