Upper Pottsgrove Police Corporal Sean Farrell Charged with Voluntary Manslaughter for Fatal Shooting of Glenwood Earl Pysher IV
Upper Pottsgrove Police Corporal Sean Farrell has been charged with voluntary manslaughter following the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Glenwood Earl Pysher IV. The incident occurred on August 23 when Pysher was walking toward the officer after knocking at the wrong house while looking for friends. Body camera footage shows that Pysher had his hands raised and was walking toward Farrell, who was positioned behind a car approximately 17 to 20 feet away. Farrell instructed Pysher to show his hands and drop to the ground. Before Farrell could finish the command to stop, he fired two shots, hitting Pysher twice in the chest. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele stated that the use of lethal force was not justified because Pysher was unarmed and not a threat. The investigation noted that Farrell had less-than-lethal options, such as a Taser, but did not use them. Additionally, the footage contradicts Farrell's own account, which claimed Pysher charged him while screaming. Farrell turned himself in on September 1 and is currently being held at the Montgomery County Prison.
