President Abelardo de la Espriella reported a significant military victory against FARC dissidents in the Cauca Valley. During an offensive operation by the National Army on Sunday, August 30, troops neutralized alias 'Felipe' or 'Arcadio,' the leader of the Rodrigo Arias company within the Jaime MartĂ­nez structure. Alias 'Felipe' was noted for his frequent use of drones to launch explosives at police stations in Dagua and El Queremal, affecting both the military and civilian populations. He was also linked to several violent actions, including an attack in January that affected seven professional soldiers. Additionally, the leader was responsible for for extortion, threats, and the installation of explosive cylinders on the main Cali-Buenaventura highway. During the operation, troops seized an M4 rifle, three providers, and 85 cartridges. Defense Minister Major General (r) Jorge Eduardo Mora stated that the neutralization of alias 'Felipe' represents a hard blow to a structure responsible for terror and challenges to the State. The administration will continue its offensive against armed structures to ensure security for the population.
