Abelardo De la Espriella visits Sabor Barranquilla 2026 to support regional economic growth

President Abelardo De la Espriella visited the Sabor Barranquilla 2026 gastronomic fair at the Centro de Eventos Puerta de Oro. This historic visit marked the first time the country's highest leader attended the event, which showcases the Caribbean region's food industry and traditions. During the tour, Abelardo De la Espriella expressed his commitment to supporting the regional economy, highlighting the fair's role in promoting employment and entrepreneurship. He was accompanied by Barranquilla's Mayor, Alejandro Char, and visited several stands, including a social project featuring recipes from 21 women. He also sampled local delicacies such as momposina ahumada buttermilk and corozo wine. The 19th edition of the fair concluded with a positive balance, attracting 20,000 attendees and projecting sales of $2,500 million. The event featured 52 chefs, 150 brands, and guests from Curazao and La Guajira, successfully promoting the region's gastronomy and tourism.
