Rohit Rohit shot and killed a woman outside a Panera Bread after months of escalating stalking and harassment.
A woman was fatally shot outside a Panera Bread on the 800 block of Howe Avenue in Sacramento County. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting around 3 p.m. and found the woman unresponsive. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, Rohit Rohit waited in the restaurant's parking lot before confronting the woman. As she attempted to run away, Rohit Rohit chased her and shot her multiple times, eventually firing a close-range shot to her head. Court documents reveal that the woman had sought a civil harassment restraining order against Rohit Rohit in May. She described his stalking behavior, which began around September 2025, as escalating in frequency and severity. The woman reported that Rohit Rohit allegedly parked outside her home for hours, tampered with her vehicle by removing air from her tires and installing a tracking device, and attempted to coerce her into marriage. She also noted that Rohit Rohit threatened to shoot himself or anyone she met. Following the shooting, witnesses reported seeing the shooter flee in a vehicle. The vehicle was later located on Highway 50, where the driver remained barricaded inside until law enforcement arrived. The driver, who appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, was pronounced dead.
