Medical professionals suggested the mark could be a bruise resulting from an intravenous injection. One doctor described it as a three-day hematoma after an injection, while another noted it resembled a sloppy injection. Doctors noted that while injections are typically given in the elbow, the hand or wrist may be used when veins in the elbow are overused or inflamed. The mark appeared in the September 1 address and a congratulatory message to miners released two days earlier. However, it was not visible in footage from a meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on September 1 or a meeting with teachers on August 29. This discrepancy suggests that some of the president's video addresses may be pre-recorded. The Kremlin has repeatedly brushed off rumors of ill health, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov stating that everything is fine.
