President Abelardo de la Espriella announced a commitment to collaborate with Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán on several strategic infrastructure projects in Bogotá. During a meeting at the Palace of San Carlos, the president emphasized the development of the Bogotá metro, ensuring the national government will complete the first line and work toward the second, third, and fourth lines. De la Espriella highlighted the need for despoliticized, long-term transportation planning and the Regiotram project to improve connectivity with Cundinamarca. He also noted the importance of the PTAR Canoas project for the recovery of the Bogotá River. Regarding urban security, the president stated that it is an absolute priority for the administration. He called for institutional unity between the national government, the mayor's office, and the public force to combat organized crime. De la Espriella noted that the administration did not come to compete with the mayor's office, but to add capacities and deliver results for the citizens.
