Andrés Manuel López Beltrán Meets with Entrepreneurs During Private Meeting at Mexico City Restaurant

Andrés Manuel López Beltrán, the son of former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, held a private meeting at the Magazzino restaurant in Mexico City's Condesa neighborhood. The meeting lasted at least five hours and included Juan Domingo Beckmann and Mauricio Garduño, who are partners in the corporate entity JDBL y Compañía, S.A. de C.V. The group also included Morena deputy Daniel Asaf. Documents reveal that JDBL y Compañía was established in 2020 with objectives involving investments in port administration, construction, and infrastructure. While the company does not currently hold operational licenses for fuel commercialization, it is authorized to participate in port infrastructure projects and hydrocarbon activities. The meeting occurred while authorities, including the FBI, investigate a presumed network of fuel smuggling involving under-declared imported fuels. The meeting has drawn attention to the relationship between López Beltrán and the entrepreneurs, particularly as fiscal authorities investigate alleged fuel tax evasion. López Beltrán did not comment on the meeting, and deputy Asaf also declined to provide declarations.
