In a social media video, Hwang expressed his gratitude for how the country transformed his life and stated that he feels a deep love for the land. President Abelardo De La Espriella responded to the petition on his X account, noting that he had seen the video and acknowledged Hwang's love for the country. The administration announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to review the influencer's situation and request for citizenship according to the law.
