Prosperidad Social postpones Renta Ciudadana and VAT Compensation payments to September due to technical revisions of the Universal Income Registry.

Prosperidad Social announced the reprogramming of the fourth cycle of Renta Ciudadana and VAT Compensation payments, which were originally scheduled to begin on August 21, 2026. The delay is necessary to conduct a technical revision of the Universal Income Registry (RUI) in coordination with the National Department of Planning (DNP). This revision is critical because applying the RUI under the conditions of Decree 662 of 2026 could potentially affect the continuity of transfers for approximately 49% of households currently receiving the program. Since Renta Ciudadana provides essential financial support for basic needs like food for roughly 700,000 households, the entity aims to ensure technical rigor and transparency. The fourth cycle of payments will now be scheduled for September, though a specific date has not yet been determined. Beneficiaries do not need to perform any additional registration tasks. Prosperidad Social will announce the official payment date once all technical, and legal conditions are met.
