Bogotá hosts Night Cycling event 'Paseo bajo las Estrellas' on Thursday, August 27, 2026

Bogotá will host the Night Cycling event 'Paseo bajo las Estrellas' this Thursday, August 27, 2026, as part of the Summer Festival 2026. The District Institute of Recreation and Sports (IDRD) organized the activity, which will run from 6:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. and features 94.01 kilometers of routes for cyclists, pedestrians, and skateboarders. To ensure safety and smooth mobility, the Bogotá District Secretariat of Mobility announced road closures and detours for TransMilenio and TransMiZonales routes. A Unified Command Post will monitor the event from the Secretariat of Security, supported by 318 members of the Cyclovia Guardians program to provide orientation and logistical support. Additionally, the IDRD and District Security Secretariat will activate a harassment prevention strategy specifically for women and girls in public spaces. The event coincides with a Maroon 5 concert at the MedPlus Coliseum, which is expected to generate additional traffic on Cota Road starting from 4:00 p.m.
