Jalisco businessman and former senator Raymundo Gómez Flores died at the age of 74
Raymundo Gómez Flores died on Wednesday at the age of 74. A prominent businessman and former senator from Jalisco, Mexico, he spent over five decades in the business sector, focusing on real estate development, housing, production, and commercialization of strategic products for economic growth. He was a fundamental part of the development of more than 138 projects in fields such as industry, tourism, and social interest housing across 16 states in Mexico and several cities in the United States. He founded GIG Grupo Inmobiliario G in 1981 and was a partner in several other businesses. Gómez Flores also held a political career, serving as a senator of the Republic for Jalisco between 2000 and 2006. He was recognized with several awards for his contributions to the economy, including the National Housing Award and the Industrial Merit Recognition. Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro expressed his condolences, describing Gómez Flores as a visionary and brave entrepreneur who left a significant legacy in the state of Jalisco.
