Rivian Chief Financial Officer Claire McDonough is resigning to join GE Vernova as the company scales production.
Rivian Chief Financial Officer Claire McDonough will step down from her role at the end of October. The company announced that McDonough is leaving to pursue a new opportunity at GE Vernova, where she will serve as the chief financial officer for the Massachusetts-based energy equipment manufacturer. Rivian stated that the resignation is not the result of any disagreement. During her tenure, McDonough played a vital role in improving the company's balance sheet and managing key projects, including the technology joint venture with Volkswagen Group. She also worked closely with CEO RJ Scaringe to ensure the company remained profitable while launching flagship vehicles like the R1T truck and R1S SUV. Derek Mulvey will serve as interim CFO while Rivian searches for a replacement. The departure occurs as the company focuses on scaling production and sales of its R2 SUV, which began shipping to customers this summer.
