Federal Deputy Zenyazen Roberto Escobar Garcia Found Dead in Veracruz State
Federal Deputy Zenyazen Roberto Escobar Garcia was found dead in the municipality of Puente National, Veracruz, with a gunshot wound. State government secretary of Government Ricardo Ahued confirmed that forensic examinations established the involvement of a firearm. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances and possible motives of the death of the 42-year-old legislator, who represented district 16 of Veracruz. President Claudia Sheinbaum requested an update from the General Prosecutor of the Republic regarding the progress of the investigation. The body of Escobar Garcia was located in the community of La Gloria, near the city of Xalapa. Escobar Garcia previously served as the secretary of Education for Veracruz during the government of Cuitlahuac Garcia. He also served as secretary of the Marine Committee and Sustainability and Climate Change Committee in Congress. Governor RocĂo Nahle and former Governor Cuitlahuac Garcia attended the rest of the body in Xalapa.
