Vitali Klitschko reports two deaths and multiple injuries following Russian drone strikes on Kyiv petrol stations
Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, reported that two people were killed and 12 people were injured during Russian drone strikes on two petrol stations in the capital on Friday morning. The strikes occurred in the Obolonskyi and Dniprovskyi districts, targeting facilities operated by the state-owned company Ukrnafta. These attacks mark a new phase of intensity in the bombardment of Kyiv, as Russian forces have systematically targeted civilian infrastructure. Sergiy Fedorenko, the acting head of Naftogaz, stated that there is no military objective behind these attacks, describing them as terror directed at the civilian population. Simultaneously, Ukrainian forces have conducted long-range strikes on Russian territory. Ukraine's Special Operations Forces confirmed a strike on the Caspian Sea port of Makhachkala and a drone attack on the Yamal-Nenets region, located over 2,800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The strike in the Arctic region targeted industrial facilities in Novy Urengoy and Purovsky, causing a fire but resulting in no deaths or injuries. Dmitry Artyukhov, the governor of the region, confirmed the attack was repelled and falling debris from the drone caused a fire at an industrial facility.
