President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports Russian strikes on civilian infrastructure as Ukraine faces intense aerial warfare

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia is targeting civilian infrastructure with ballistic missiles, following a series of strikes that killed at least five people and injured over 10 in Ukraine. The administration announced that Russian forces hit the ArcelorMittal steel plant in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine's largest integrated steel unit, damaging core operations and forcing a production halt. Simultaneously, Russian forces launched a massive drone barrage, with Ukraine striking logistics hubs like the Wildberries warehouse in Moscow. These attacks have pushed civilian casualties to their highest levels since the early months of 2022. While the front line remains at a near standstill, the war has shifted toward an aerial campaign of missiles and drones. In Kyiv, Russian strikes damaged a large book market, injuring six people. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to allies for more air defense, noting that Ukraine was pummelled by over 1,550 attack drones and 62 missiles in the past week alone.
