Vladimir Putin warns of retaliatory strikes as Russia and Ukraine exchange heavy air attacks

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned of intensified retaliatory strikes following a heavy exchange of air attacks between Russia and Ukraine that killed at least 17 people. The strikes occurred as both nations ramped up drone campaigns to cripple each other's economic infrastructure, with Ukraine targeting Russian oil refineries and warehouses. Russian attacks on Saturday killed at least seven people, while Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory killed at least 10. These attacks followed a deadly Russian drone strike on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih, which killed 16 people and wounded 130. In the capital, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that ballistic missiles hit railway infrastructure, killing one person. The administration announced that Russia is seeking to break Ukraine through terror, according to French President Emmanuel Macron. Meanwhile, Ukraine has run out of U.S.-made Patriot interceptors, leaving the capital's infrastructure vulnerable to high-speed ballistic missiles. As the war continues, Russia is also preparing to reintegrate combat veterans into its society and labor force.
