Joshua Kohut Charged with Invasion of Privacy for Secretly Recording Upskirt Videos at Rutgers University

Joshua Kohut, the dean of research at Rutgers University's School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, has been charged with fourth-degree invasion of privacy. The New Jersey Attorney General's office announced the charges after investigators alleged Kohut used his mobile phone to record "upskirt" videos of a victim's undergarments and intimate parts without their knowledge while working on campus. During a search of Kohut's residence, authorities seized five electronic devices, one of which allegedly contained the incriminating footage. Attorney General Jennifer Davenport stated that such an invasion of privacy is a criminal act. Rutgers University has placed Kohut on administrative leave and banned him from campus pending the outcome of the investigation. If convicted, Kohut faces a prison sentence of up to 18 months and a fine of up to $10,000.
