Matthew Lanske Survives Three Gunshots During Belltown Street Takeover While Family Seeks Accountability

Matthew Lanske survived three gunshots during a chaotic street takeover in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood early Sunday morning. While Lanske was out with friends, a man and two women attempted to rob one of his friends at gunpoint. Lanske attempted to take the gun from the man, resulting in three bullets striking his stomach and pelvis. Lanske was found by police after walking two blocks while bleeding to find help. His family, including sister Rebecca Garberding, expressed frustration that bystanders filmed the incident instead of assisting him. The family is currently seeking justice and accountability for the shooting. The incident occurred as part of a series of three deadly shootings in Belltown over the weekend. While Lanske survived, a friend was killed in the same robbery attempt. Another separate shooting near Pier 66 resulted in the death of the 17-year-old Kaleb Osborne. Seattle police have made no arrests in any of the three cases and are requesting witnesses to come forward with photos, video, or information to help identify the suspects.
