President Claudia Sheinbaum will present her second government report on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, while school classes begin on Monday, August 31st.
President Claudia Sheinbaum will present her second government report from the National Palace on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. The report will provide details on the progress of the administration's work in the highest office of Mexico. While social media rumors suggested the report might delay the start of the school year, the National Public Education Secretariat (SEP) confirmed that classes will begin as scheduled on Monday, August 31st. This applies to both public and schools incorporated into the National Educational System. The SEP calendar plans for 185 days of activities, concluding on July 9th of the next year. Because September 1st is not a mandatory day off under Article 74 of the Federal Labor Law, students and workers will continue their activities on the day of the report.
