The Colombian Geological Service placed the Puracé volcano on orange alert due to frequent ash emissions.

The Colombian Geological Service (SGC) placed the Puracé volcano in the Cauca department on orange alert. The volcano has been on this alert level since August 1st due to the risk of an eruption. During the last several hours, the SGC registered eight emissions of ash from the Puracé volcano crater. Geological and seismological authorities are monitoring the constant activity of the volcano as it remains in a state of alert.
